Hiking in Owhiro Bay

Owhiro Bay is located just west of Wellington and overlooks the Cook Strait to the South Island. It is a protected marine reserve and part of the Te Kopahou Reserve. Our friends Emma, Jono, and Lou decided to take a hike with us out to the Red Rocks and have a little picnic. The first time we hiked here was in spring when the seal colony was basking on the rocks. The seals may have moved on, but we still had a great day in the sun.

Meet Tory

She is our current flatmate at our house in Berhampore - a suburb of Wellington. Tory moved here from New Hampshire to study fashion at Massey University. Her dad is actually from here so it was easy for her to relocate. She holds both a New Zealand passport and an American which is pretty cool.  Her recent graduate collection was shown at the LAUNCH Fashion Show which, because of Tory's referral,  I was able to shoot.

This video was of an interview we did while sitting on our front deck. It was a calm night with still a glow of light above the hillside. Tory tells about a recent dream she had involving an alien and her pinky.

North Island with Sam & Sarah

Sam is an amazing friend that I have known since childhood. We both ended up moving to Milwaukee at different times and before I left to come to New Zealand, she left to teach English in Taiwan. While teaching in Taiwan, she met Sarah and quickly became friends with her since they're both from the midwest. Not to mention, they both share a freakish love for anything Lord of the Rings.

A couple months back she told me they would be visiting New Zealand with the grand goal of being the first in their LOTR friend groups to walk through Hobbiton. So I said HEY, lets make a trip out of it. When their winter break started they flew to Australia for a week and then headed to Wellington to start off their north island road trip with us.
